my own character for Beauty and the Beast

My fairy tale is Beauty and the beast and i made the title for this story

Timeline : 1970s
Setting : house
Audience : children and teenagers

My drawing style is manga and i colour it with my style that i enjoy and convenient with it. I plan to make a storyboarding for 2D animation.

I drew my "Belle" version using photoshop and wacom and this is the outcome. She is the main character of my storyboarding :D

here is how my main character look like from that viewpoint.

First on the top-left is front view, next is 3/4 view. Left-below is back view and next is left side

another character by me.. a bit dark...

after add a title... Actually, i am still confuse i should make picture book or graphic novel, but i try graphic novel first. I make both of this picture as my cover first :D

Perhaps for the text, you could use a clearer and more well designed font for the words "Beauty and The Beast".

Do all of the backgrounds have to be black? Why?

i choose black because i want to emphasize a sadness feeling. Belle is forced to accompany beast and black means darkness i think so i choose black. With black, all of light can be seen clearly than another colour. Should i change my background colour sir?

Overusing black can be a problem. It's a very powerful background and it should be used on "special occasions". Please remember that. Backgrounds should be included. Simple ones will do. But some sense of space is greatly needed here. Look at these examples;

Nicely done. Good solid forms. Great perspective.
